A silver tonearm drops onto black vinyl.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “You come as you are”

Two hands set the needle on a cream label while a teal-blue room waits — soft window light left, dark stacked amp gear right. The platter keeps spinning. A hand reaches over the grooves toward mid-cue, red LED glowing near the base, vertical blinds slicing cool daylight. The face stays off camera. The record has already begun.

Sameer Gadhia looks down three-quarter, brow furrowed, mouth closed. Warm orange key on his face and neck against a cool teal window. He wears a solid red crew-neck tee. A young woman in profile — long dark hair, straight bangs — gazes out at a blurred cityscape of tall buildings. Calm. Contemplative. Cool desaturated blue, face lit from the glass, the rest of her head and the room deep in shadow. She keeps looking. Lips slightly parted. The open frame holds the towers she will not leave.

Sameer returns low-angle, intense, mouth parted, teal rim left and deep shadow right. Short dark hair. Light stubble. An arm reaches toward a cream brown-marbled lidded urn on a dark table beside a silver hi-fi stack — cassette and amp units, buttons and dials, wood crates behind. Hands lean onto dark electronics on a wood cabinet beside that marble urn.

Soft-focus grainy home-video night: two boys outdoors hug. The older wraps arms around the younger from behind; both smile toward camera. Dark metal bars look like a swing-set frame. The older boy looks like a young Sameer Gadhia. The younger stays unclear.

Sameer’s head tips back. Eyes roll upward, whites visible, mouth slightly open — trance look, cropped beard, cool desaturated teal. Framed wall left, bright window right. He tilts again gazing up, mouth agape, skin sheen under blue side light, a dense grid of small photos and papers behind him. Eyes closed, head tipped back, mouth parted in a yearning sing-look. Dark crew-neck at the neckline.

Someone with long dark wavy hair holds and examines a brownish-gray knitted fabric near a dark wood window frame. Pale yellow or off-white sleeveless or short-sleeve top. After that a man with short dark hair stands facing a bright window, back and three-quarter to camera, right hand raised to temple or ear — entire frame heavy soft blur, silhouette against overexposed daylight. Solid red short-sleeve tee. Continuity says Sameer.

Static wall collage: a grid of small photos of pale stone cherub and angel sculptures — center cherub sharper, left a profile statue head and wing, right a blurrier statue-face. Muted cool blue-gray. No people. Sameer in profile looks off-camera, mouth slightly open, intense and strained, solid red crew-neck tee again. The woman — long dark wavy hair, bare right shoulder — bunches tan-beige fabric beside a wood window, then presses crumpled brown taupe knit to nose and mouth, eyes closed, smelling it. Warm gold lamp glow right; cool blue window left. Tighter: eyes shut, fabric to face, comfort in the knit, warm backlit hair. She is not Young the Giant.

Exterior wide: a teal-green vertical-panel multi-story building at dusk. A lone figure centered in a lit mid-floor window raises both arms in a V overhead — looks like Sameer in orange-red long sleeve. Cool night facade.

The woman returns contemplative in profile — tan beige ribbed crewneck sweatshirt, dark straight shoulder-length hair, cool window key left and warm lamp right. Sameer bows his head and raises his right arm to the window header in a stretch. Large multi-pane glass holds a hazy blue-grey city skyline. Desk left: vintage typewriter and book stack. Right: hanging pendant bulb lit, paper and magazine stack. She looks down-left, pensive, dark top, wood surface or headboard behind.

An infant supine on a white pillow gazes up-right, curious — cream cable-knit cardigan with dark brown buttons and white hem tag, blue denim at the edge. Warm soft bed light. Sameer drinks from a clear glass bottle, head tipped back, left arm extended. Wide three-pane window. Dense dusk city in cool blue. Typewriter and paper on the ledge. He stands smiling, hands clasped behind his head in a relaxed stretch — plain short-sleeve red tee, left wall a dense grid of small black-and-white photos, right a large window of hazy overcast towers.

The woman reclines on a leaf-pattern sofa — cream leaves on dark ground — leans forward, arms crossed, gaze right. Large window behind: blurry dusk city. The infant sleeps, hands curled near the face, thick cream cable-knit with ribbed cuffs. She mid-turns with motion-blur, pulling a beige knit wrap over her right shoulder. Dual tulip-shade floor lamp warm center. Left window: dark blue skyline and tan curtain. Through crib slats the infant looks up awake — cream long-sleeve with ruffled cuff. An adult hand gently strokes the baby’s forehead. Baby in cream thick-knit; adult dark brown or olive ribbed cuff. Who the adult is stays unreadable — hand only.

Sameer reclines mid-couch, right forearm draped over forehead and eyes, head tilted back, mouth slightly open, weary. Dim cluttered interior. Tall stacks of books and vinyl. Two hands clutch a white cream textured knit collar at a throat; soft-focus side profile, dark hair, eyes closed, warm golden key. The woman stands cradling the infant to her chest, looking down affectionate — baby wrapped cream knit — warm orange lamp, dual frosted tulip floor-lamp, potted plants. Barefoot mid-room Sameer dances expressive, arms raised, elbows bent, slight motion-blur, looking left. Night city lights through a wide rear window. Tan chaise left with white cloth draped at the end. Photo and polaroid grid wall. Black vinyl spins on a silver turntable from a Dutch high angle — white headshell needle tracking outer grooves, tan-brown center label, red strobe glow. Looks like a Technics SL-1200-class deck.

Waist-up Sameer extends his right arm fully lateral, mouth open, brow furrowed, strained gaze up and away. Dense black-and-white photo and sketch collage left. The woman cradles the infant in a light wrap toward the window — night skyline through rear glass, dark botanical-leaf sofa, two wood armchairs with pale blue-grey cushions.

A man in a red tee — looks like Sameer — presses both palms flat on the glass of a large framed painting of two stylized folk faces. From behind he leans both palms on wood-framed vertically ribbed fluted glass. Bright circular warm glow between the hands. Behind the glass: two stylized abstract faces in brown, ochre, and blue.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “You make me want to scream and shout”

Exterior night: two adjacent lit apartment windows in a dark facade. Left unit — a couple mid-room in close embrace or slow-dance among plants and clustered wall photos. Split composition, dark central pillar: Sameer at a cluttered desk under a bright desk-lamp leans facing the night skyline — brown leather armchair, books and papers in piles. The woman hugs the infant tight to her shoulder, hand cupping baby head — faces soft, tender lean-in, baby in white thick cable-knit, adult brown or dark-tan knit. She looks down tender and tired, fine dark hair of the infant back to camera.

Sameer mid-jumps over the tan chaise — heavy motion-blur, same night apartment, city lights, photo-sketch collage, tall mirror, white cloth on the chaise. Soft-focus at the desk he leans forward looking down. Night window: white and yellow city bokeh. The woman cradles the infant eyes closed, forehead resting on the baby’s head, night window mullion, orange and white city bokeh.

He spins center room, heavy motion-blur, arms outstretched, right hand clutching a white cloth. Large wood-framed windows. Dark city bokeh. Warm rectangular lamp left. Mid-spin again: arms wide, head tipped back, eyes closed, abandon-look. Floor-to-ceiling windows. Night city lights. Cool night versus warm interior. He bows his head and runs his right hand through dark hair mid-motion — solid red short-sleeve crew tee, soft city bokeh, geometric pendant lamp warm right. Hunches forward in a grimace, eyes squeezed shut, mouth tight, right arm bent sharp across face and neck. Thin dark-blue cord wrapped across the nose bridge and head. Multi-color city bokeh through the panes. Somber, arms bent behind his back, mid-donning a dark jacket. Wall dense with small white papers and photos. Arms spread wide horizontal, dramatic gesture, head turned right.

The woman, long dark hair and straight bangs, eyes closed or down, cradles another person’s head against her chest — dark muted olive or brown top at the neckline, colorful city bokeh behind. The infant cries hard, eyes squeezed shut, mouth wide, held close. Adult long dark hair in deep shadow cradles the child. Infant cream knitted sweater texture sharp. Sameer both hands clutch his head, palms press forehead and eyes — distress, fatigue. A near-full silhouette stands between two narrow vertical light slots — looks like a Young the Giant member in a dark bulky coat. Left: cool blue-grey lit wall, large tiles, decorative circular interlocking border.

She cradles the infant looking down tender. Warm table-lamp. Dark outdoor city bokeh. Sameer sits fully clothed hunched in a white bathtub of water, head bowed, face in shadow, motionless — shot through a glass shower partition. Large pale-grey square wall tiles. The woman lies on her left side in bed cradling the baby, looking down tender. Large terracotta reddish-brown pillows. White wood crib slats soft left. She lies face close to the infant nestled at her chest, serene.

Sameer floats face-up in dark rippling water. A dense vivid red liquid plume that looks like blood or dye billows from under his torso. Wet dark shiny jacket over a red shirt. He lies back in the white bathtub in dark red-tinted water, eyes open, vacant upward gaze, wet hair splayed on porcelain.

Infant foreground lies back on terracotta quilted bedding looking up. Woman dark hair soft behind sleeps eyes closed on a dark pillow. Sameer sits hunched in the tub corner, both hands clasped over mouth and nose — distress or prayer — dark black jacket or blazer over deep maroon red shirt. He lies back near the faucet, mouth open in a gasp. A second person leans over the tub, right hand on Sameer’s waist — dark-clad helper, face off camera — shot through wet glass shower droplets.

Prone face-down, partially submerged — head and shoulders underwater, lower body toward the tub edge. He lies back again, dark murky water to the chest, eyes near-shut, weary, right hand raised near mouth and nose. Water stream falls into the tub.

Through a circular peephole vignette — black surround — Sameer sits in the tub leaning against the tiled corner, weary, wet hair matted, face damp. Black blazer over deep red or burgundy tee. He leans right, somber exhausted look off-camera, wet hair plastered.

The woman lies in bed looking down somber and exhausted at the infant. The infant on its back, face scrunched crying, mouth open. Terracotta quilted pillows with cream piping. Sameer lies back in dark red-tinted water, mouth agape, eyes up, right hand clutching throat. Water ripples splash at midsection. Cool low-key versus saturated red water. She lies on her side on a maroon red pillow gazing down soft at the baby — vertical blinds warm brown-orange behind — while the infant foreground looks up-right calm curious and adult dark hair soft behind rests eyes closed.

Fully submerged face-up in the white bathtub — eyes closed, mouth parted, bubbles near nose and mouth, clear cool water. Wet black blazer over bright red button-down cling. Profile tighter: water to ears and cheeks, breath bubble at the lips, eyes half-shut looking up through water. High-angle: air-bubble cluster rising, limp-still, reddish-orange shirt under the soaked jacket. Overhead-side fully under, bubbles from nose and mouth, soft surface ripples, wet dark hair swept back, short stubble, cool blue-grey versus red. Head tipped back again. Bright red crew tee under dark shiny wet jacket cling.

A boy looks up-right in wonder, mouth parted, left hand gripping a thin white kite string. Not Young the Giant. Teal or dull-blue heavy button-up, denim or canvas look. The woman lies on the bed gazing tenderly at the infant — white wood crib left, pale curtains, cool blue bedroom night, maroon pillow, dark brown or grey long-sleeve top.

Silhouette low-angle flies a colorful kite against overexposed white-grey sky. Right arm raised fist on thin string. Hexagonal multi-color geometric starburst — red, yellow, teal. Face fully silhouetted. Looks like the same kite boy. The boy looks up in awe, mouth agape, right hand on the string, light blue-grey denim jacket, soft key on face versus dark foliage.

She sleeps on her side facing the baby. Infant quiet or awake beside her. White crib slats. Pale curtains. Dark wood headboard. Maroon pink pillow. She rests eyes closed on a pink-red quilted pillow; child face peeks looking up. Thin blue horizontal lens-flare streak mid-frame. Light grey long-sleeve.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “All the words I never said until now”

Bare feet stand on a dark reflective floor, one slightly ahead. Long white flowing garment hem to the ankles only. Dark blue wall or doorframe.

Top-down through circular peephole on black field: Sameer lies face-up submerged in the white tub, cloudy water, eyes closed, still. A person with long dark hair hunches near an open doorway, face off camera. Grey flat door — silver knob, deadbolt, chain. Gold star ornament on the door. Through the door: cool hallway, red brick, two dark elevator doors, blue call light. A hand reaches toward a silver round doorknob on a dark blue wall — heavy motion-blur, dark long-sleeve brownish-grey jacket or sweater.

The woman in profile gazes off-camera, mouth parted, pensive. Warm multi-tier hanging lamp soft behind. Night city lights. Dark neutral sweater over white crew undershirt peek. Sameer high-angle submerged on his back, clear water, air bubbles rise from the face. Bright red tee under dark jacket wet. A dark figure leans over the white tub. Arms push or hold a second person’s head under water. Splash and turbulence. Heavy motion-blur. Submerged head, dark wet hair, face distorted through water. Attacker silhouetted — who stays unclear. A person hunches lean-forward, dark curly hair filling the right, face fully obscured by extreme blur and low light.

A boy stares intently left, lean-forward, worry or curiosity, mouth parted. Lush green foliage soft behind. Brown and white plaid flannel. Bright blue stethoscope draped on the neck, chest-piece mid-torso. Messy light-brown or blonde curls. Not Young the Giant. Infant on cream scalloped quilt looks up-right distressed, brow furrowed, mouth parted in a whimper. Rust burgundy pillow edge. Thick cream cable-knit with three dark-brown shoulder buttons.

Extreme horizontal motion-blur night outdoor — looks like a small blue bike or trike streaks left across grey concrete with red-brick borders. Sameer supine, head tipped back, eyes shut or rolled, mouth open in anguish. A dark long-hair figure leans over left and frames his face. Hand on his right cheek. Red stain on chest or shoulder.

About five or six young boys outdoor on a stone-tile courtyard dogpile and wrestle playful — top boy draped over the pile, bottom-right boy laughs mouth open limbs sprawled. Infant on cream scalloped quilt looks up-right wide-eyed curious, calm. A young boy roughly eight to twelve outdoors squints, wrinkles his nose, scowls skeptical. Grey-white plaid collared button-down. Not adult Young the Giant.

Bird’s-eye overhead tiled plaza: a man who looks like a Young the Giant member curls fetal on his side center-left on a concrete square. Others walk. Another crawls bottom-center. Blue bicycle abandoned on its side far right. Sameer supine on ornate light tile floor stares up wide-eyed, mouth parted — fear, vulnerability. Dark long-hair figure leans foreground left and obscures left face and body. Decorative classical circular or scroll tile border right of his head. A young woman with dark bangs lies in bed eyes closed, sleeping on a pillow.

A young boy roughly six to eight outdoors gazes up-right with a soft closed-mouth hopeful smile, head tilted back. Dark adult shoulder silhouette he looks toward. Sameer canted-angle, eyes shut, coughs or gasps into clenched right hand at the mouth. Wet hair. Skin sheen. Bright red blood-like liquid smeared on throat and chest of a soaked white undershirt. Two young boys outdoors — left boy back to camera short dark hair; right boy curly light-brown auburn leans in with a slight curious smile. Next firm embrace: right boy eyes closed soft peaceful smile, head on the other’s shoulder; left boy profile face tucked into neck.

Woman and infant in bed — she eyes closed, face pressed to the baby’s head, cradles and cups infant head and neck, sleeping and cuddling. Dark maroon rust pillow. Sameer supine in the white bathtub, head in the corner, looks up and away wide-eyed vacant or pained, mouth agape, face and hair wet with droplets. Large light-grey beige square wall tiles. Decorative circular floral tub-rim border. Black blazer over dark red rust burgundy shirt damp. Side-angle supine looking up, mouth open exhausted, wet face, hair plastered on forehead.

Solid black. Total void. No subject. No light. Fade-to-black hold.

Twin tall rectangular apartment towers at night aerial — lit window grid warm-yellow and cool-blue glow, dark surrounding cityscape, scattered street and building lights, black sky. Same twin towers plus dense white all-caps end-credits block mid-frame. CONTINENTE logo gold yellow with crest graphic lower-center between the towers.

Credits hold: directed by George Gallardo Kattah; cast Juan Pablo Barragán, Carolina Ribón and others; Continente Pictures and Parche Films; cinematography Will Vela; drone Gildardo Arango; shot in Bogotá, Colombia. CONTINENTE logo lower-center. Young the Giant named in the credits only.

Solid black. Post-credits blackout. Video end.

Vinyl first. City windows. Red water. Twin towers. Already there.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “Already there”

What sticks when the picture dies is the loop the camera already built — same rooms, same wardrobe returns, same motions it would not drop.
