Henson Recording, Studio B — on-screen clock 1:47 AM, May 10 2008 — Artist Young the Giant, Producer Brendan O’Brien, Engineer Kyle Stevens, Assistant Caroline Shotwell. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uKB5hlxPQs

Studio B never sleeps.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “Maybe I’m bored again”

An engineer with short brown hair sits back-to-camera at a huge analog mixing console, hands working the faders while a CRT above the window prints the room in green text — Henson Recording, Studio B, that exact early-morning stamp, the credits already claiming the take. Through the glass the live room glows warm: fairy lights, floor lamps, mic and music stands, a tall wood cabinet waiting like furniture that has heard every pass.

After that the band claps as one. A man with dark hair and a mustache, black over-ear headphones on, mid-clap at chest height. Center, a bearded man in glasses brings his palms together facing the camera — looks like Jacob Tilley. Behind them someone sits a stool near a mic stand in a light shirt. Pink mandala and sunburst tapestries and more fairy lights dress the wall.

The drummer who looks like Francois Comtois is already mid-hit — right stick over a white snare, left near a red rack tom, eyes down on the kit. Brass cymbals, chrome stands, boom mics, red and yellow cables snake the hardware. A dark blue-brown mandala tapestry and warm fairy lights ride the top of the shot. A bald short-beard man sits center and laughs with both hands pressing black over-ear headphones to his ears — studio staff or producer more than a clear band ID — black boom mic in front, a rack of electric guitars deep in a red wash on the left wall, glass door with white tape marks that look a little like an AM or 4M logo.

Sameer Gadhia takes the chair. Legs crossed, right hand on left knee, left arm on the armrest, short dark beard, relaxed against light-wood paneling and a dark teal wall with a big wood-framed acoustic panel. Next the grade goes heavy monochrome blue and Sameer fills the right third in profile, looking down and left, mouth slightly parted, black in-ear monitor in the right ear, plain white crew tee — pensive, close, film grain on the rounded border.

Live light answers the booth.

Low angle on Sameer singing eyes closed, both hands gripping a handheld mic near his face, lime-yellow in-ear glowing in the left ear, ring on the right finger, deep blue-teal stage wash, blue-red-white check plaid collared shirt. Cut back to the warm booth: waist-up left profile into a silver condenser with a black circular pop filter, large dark over-ear headphones with silver earcup rings, orange-red mandala tapestry left, darker sunburst behind, fairy lights above, a bright glowing cube lamp rim-lighting his back, music stand with white lyric sheets right. Handheld live closes stack: lime-green IEM popping against cool blue, dust in the air, Sameer at the grille with a metal ring on the mic hand.

He sits the console too. Right hand reaches a white fader toward the monitors Wider: Sameer centered on the wide analog board, focused on the faders, a sharp side-profile observer who looks like a bandmate in the near blur, meter-bridge monitors, light wood paneling, soundproof glass, warm orange lamp shades through an opening far right. Later live again — eyes closed, mouth open, head tilted back, two silver rings on the mic hand, lime-yellow IEM, cyan-teal wash.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “Does anyone feel a thing?”

Eric Cannata lands soft smile into camera holding an acoustic, right hand near the strings, while Sameer sits soft behind left with a white electric on his lap, right hand to forehead and hairline, left holding a small dark object that looks like a phone, warm lamp and plant behind. A guitarist who looks like Eric plays a light silver electric soft-focus — left hand high on the neck, right near the bridge — mint-green amp rack, purple flare, soft-focus grain. Sameer’s booth profile opens wide into the silver condenser under warm orange key. Live low-angle motion-blur sing, lime-yellow IEM, lavender-pink and cool teal wash, light patterned shirt.

Waist-up booth: dark over-ear headphones with tan earcups, lyric sheets below the mic, red-orange paisley mandala left, yellow-orange sunburst behind, glowing yellow cube between them, doorway into an amp room far right. A band member hunches over a dark teal-charcoal semi-hollow with f-holes and a chrome trapeze tailpiece, black capo near the headstock, black over-ear headphones, boom mic at the guitar body, wood paneling, tan jacket draped a chair, patterned red-white-yellow rug on light wood floor. Cut to a candid laugh — looks like Jacob Tilley — navy baseball cap with a small white crown mark, light beige crew tee with shoulder double-stitch, soft key from the right, shallow depth, film grain.

Standing booth profiles keep the mandala language: red-orange and gold-blue-black sunburst tapestries, fairy lights, yellow cube lamp rim on the shoulder, lyric sheets, gear and a bright circular light far right. Mid-kit: sticks over a white snare with black gaffer damp strips — looks like Francois — white crew tee, tan-beige linen drawstring pants, colorful patterned socks, wood vertical-slat paneling, chrome hardware. Soft-focus double: cream sweatshirt and glasses that look a little like Eric laughs left while a dark-hair beard blur that looks a little like Sameer moves past right.

Wood-slat studio: a bald short-beard man in a black mesh office chair plays a natural-finish acoustic facing left while a rear three-quarter figure holds a red SG-style electric and watches — looks like Eric with glasses — tall gear rack left, phone on the mesh chair seat. Sameer’s live close-up goes wide-mouth intense, lime-yellow IEM in the right ear, busy multi-color patterned shirt in green blue red, cool teal face key and warm white flare. A soft-focus guitarist plays electric under blue-purple wash and flare, thick light-grey strap, white collared button-down under a blue-grey denim-look outer layer. Extreme close on a strumming hand over blue-purple pearloid pickguard under deep purple wash.

Across the frame, the Omnichord room: a man in a brown flat ivy cap hunches over a beige Omnichord or QChord on his lap, both hands on buttons and strum plate, while a bearded thin-glasses listener who looks like Jacob sits arms crossed in a black mesh chair watching. Control-room huddle at the huge analog console — older grey-beard glasses man who looks like engineer or producer leans forearms on the desk; long dark hair in a white tee seated facing the board; reddish-brown hair and beard in a light tan textured sweater looking left — looks like Eric. Live-room triangle: long dark hair full beard plays a pale butterscotch Tele-look seated — looks like Jacob; short reddish-brown hair and glasses leans forward in a black office chair head down — looks like Eric; Sameer sits back hand near mouth watching the guitarist contemplative.

Candids break the take. Sameer smiles looking down, right index pointing at a small light hand-drum or goblet tucked under his left arm; a dark baseball-cap profile laughs toward him left; yellow-brown plaid shirt behind; warm lamps, mic boom, dark curtains. He raises the right hand mid-gesture still holding twin small hand drums under the left arm, boom mic and rack clip upper left, bright white cylindrical lampshade, pink-purple wall, black curtains. Drummer profile under heavy cyan-blue wash — pale-blue or white short-sleeve tee, stick upright mid-strike motion blur — looks like Francois. Soft-focus kit, boom mics, red and blue cables, fairy-light bokeh.

A bald short-beard man lies prone on the dark floor propped on elbows, soft smile looking right listening — studio associate continuity from earlier — while standing olive green cargo pants, light-green socks, and tan double-strap sandals that look like Birkenstocks enter left. Sameer’s booth intensity returns amber — dual mandalas, fairy lights, keyboard stand and red cables through glass. Omnichord again — flat-cap man both hands on dial and buttons, Jacob-lookalike arms crossed watching — then both hands raised palms-out mid-explain with the beige Omnichord still on his lap — then lean-forward both arms extended index fingers pointing right mouth open speaking or counting in, navy shirt, wood paneling, fairy-light bloom.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “Maybe I’m shattered”

Live closes stack cyan: Sameer eyes closed head tilted on a handheld dark mic, bright lime-green IEM, silver ring; tighter three-quarter mouth wide into the same dark mic under strong cyan side key and dark purple-grey haze. Tea break: he stands right profile holding a white paper cup in both hands, tea-bag tag hanging, speaking or listening, while a bald man in a white tee leans forward laughing on couch pillows, tall black outboard rack right, stacked wood-cabinet vintage audio left, warm vertical string lights. Emphatic hands mid-gesture near green LED meters on the console — looks like Sameer’s chin and dark beard at the far left edge only.

Eric lookalike stares down the guitar neck under heavy blue-purple stage wash, pale light button-down, wire-rim glasses, dark hair full beard, white or light IEM in the right ear. Sameer side and rear three-quarter into a handheld mic under cool blue — red-blue-white plaid flannel. Close and intense looking up and aside — dense multi-color abstract kaleidoscope button-down in blues reds yellows. Booth tip-back into condenser and pop filter — light grey-beige crew tee, red maroon circular mandala, warm fairy lights, amber on the face. Soft blue-violet wash as transition, then low-angle booth under red-orange paisley and wood-slat ceiling.

The bald associate plays a cream blonde Telecaster with Bigsby vibrato, head bowed at the fretboard, black over-ear headphones, boom mic that looks like a Sennheiser MD 421 at chest and guitar, wood outboard rack, black curtain, warm red spill. Live stage thick smoke and amber backlight: silhouettes — hunched bassist profile who looks a little like Payam Doostzadeh facing right, second silhouetted guitarist left, glowing amp head, cables and pedalboards and monitors on the floor, warm yellow rim haze. Sameer sits a black ergonomic chair gesturing right hand raised fingers spread explaining feedback; a light-hair man with glasses on his head in a navy zip hoodie listens behind the desk — looks like studio staff; wood-cased outboard rack, green water bottle, fairy lights.

Bass owns the smoke: red electric bass mid thick yellow-orange volumetric haze — looks like Payam, long wavy dark hair full beard, red face wash — guitarist soft behind in a red jacket or long-sleeve. High-angle close on a shaved-head focus that looks like Francois — clear IEM right ear, blue-purple wash, purple lens-flare streak across the crown, dark blue collared jacket over plain white crew tee. Guitarist throws head back eyes closed on a sunburst Les Paul-style electric while Francois lookalike sits mid-kit sticks up, tan Fender-look amp left, reddish snare and white kick with circular logo, dense warm golden fairy-light star bokeh on the dark stage.

Booth profile again under red-orange-gold paisley and fairy-light string along the wood acoustic ceiling. Sameer at a black grand piano both hands on the keys head bowed, black over-ear headphones, mic stand and sheet music, vintage dual-manual wood organ that looks like a Hammond left, vertical wood-slat wall under purple-pink wash, warm cream-shade table lamp behind the piano. Cream pale electric through heavy out-of-focus guitar-rack headstocks in the foreground — looks like Jacob bald or shaved, black over-ear headphones, bright music-stand glow rim-lighting. Cream Fender Telecaster with Bigsby — boom mic, rear guitar rack, cream-shade lamp and orange pedal on a wood table. He sings mouth open eyes squinted while playing the butterscotch Tele with white pickguard chrome Bigsby and black capo, tan fleece earpads on the headphones, condenser at chest, dark vertical curtains.

Live low-angle: Sameer left profile into handheld mic, two silver rings, lime-green yellow translucent IEM, strong blue wash. Double-exposure stacks a soft Sameer-look profile and lime-green IEM over motion-blur guitarist, drummer, and a cardboard Philips box in warm red wash. Multi-exposure psychedelic: layered Sameer faces, one mid-vocal mouth open, one eye staring intense into camera, embrace of dark hair behind, heavy pink red blue saturation and dust, multi-color long-sleeve button-down stripes and abstract blue pink red yellow. Tight profile under cool blue key — lime-green IEM, short dark textured hair full beard.

Grainy black-and-white home video: four members sit a dark couch looking right off-camera casual — far left arms crossed; dark short-sleeve plaid button-down on one, beard and dark open shirt or cardigan over light tee on another; plain light wall, dark-framed picture, tall dark wood glass-door cabinet. A brisk motion-blur silhouette that looks like Sameer turns and walks left through an ornate hotel-lobby-look interior — patterned area rug, wide bright archway with pillars and glass, tall potted plant, high-back patterned chair, dark wood paneling, noir vignette. Soft-focus live Sameer mouth wide, bright green IEM, heavy cyan-blue blur.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “I wanna feel alive again”

Eric stands waist-up in black-and-white playing a dark semi-hollow that looks like a Gibson ES, clear glasses, black over-ear headphones, rear acoustic foam, Marshall amp head on cab, white amp head on dark cab, Gibson-branded dual-speaker cab left.Heavy motion-blur candid of a dark silhouette looking into a bright hall that looks like airport or transit terminal — multiple blurry people, large windows, illegible dark sign — ID unclear. Sameer black-and-white close three-quarter looking down-left mouth parted, strong top-front key, deep right shadow, vertical film streaks, corrugated metal lines behind, dark outer layer with patterned or plaid collar peek.

Francois lookalike leans forward mid-kit eyes on snare and toms — white Ludwig kick with script logo, multi boom mics, horizontal slat panels, high-contrast black-and-white. A guitarist who looks like Eric or Jacob leans forward playing electric looking down-right, out-of-focus neck and headstock in the foreground, thick dark strap, heavy grain and white dust scratches. Payam Doostzadeh sits a bed edge playing sunburst electric bass — black over-ear headphones, glockenspiel left, nightstand lamp and mug stacks, fan right, dark comforter wood headboard. A bandmate with glasses not clearly Sameer stands a mirror-selfie into the reflection — cluttered desk, white four-panel door, open closet, mirror frame-in-frame vignette.

Moody blue-purple return: long dark wavy hair full beard that looks like Sameer looks down eyes shut contemplative, strong backlight rim hair halo, patterned floral garment at the right shoulder only. From there, four members group-sing into one center silver condenser and black circular pop filter left to right — glasses beard black tee headphones mouth open; cap pale yellow-cream tee hands clasped mouth wide; green tee both hands pressing headphones to ears eyes shut; right profile olive-brown tank headphones — pink-red and brown-tan mandala tapestries, fairy lights, warm lamps.

Live Sameer again under heavy blue cyan haze — blue-white vertical-stripe collared shirt, lime-green IEM, silver ring — then deep blue wash three-quarter profile in multi-color geometric plaid collared button-down, yellow-green IEM. Through wood-framed glass the drummer booth goes hard — arms and sticks heavy motion blur — looks like Francois — snare mic’d, cymbals, white-silver kick, blue-purple mandala tapestries and fairy lights inside, bright warm lamp flare right, mic outside the booth and dark wood beams in the foreground.

Sameer on the grand-piano bench faces the music stand, left arm raised hand behind head and neck — sheet music and small device that looks like phone or tuner on the rack, Hammond-look organ left, synth mixer between, music stand papers and mic foreground, bright white lampshade bloom, purple-magenta wash on wood acoustic panels. Two seated warm pink-orange: bearded glasses with acoustic-electric across the lap — looks like Jacob — while bald bearded player works a dark semi-hollow that looks like a Gibson ES-335; white hourglass lamp, two clear water bottles.

Right after, rest. Sameer out of focus lies horizontal midground while a sharp owl-base lamp with warm yellow shade sits on a rack of analog gear — VU meters with yellowed faces, green indicator lights. Sharper: he sleeps or rests eyes shut hands folded on the chest, cream-shade owl-look lamp left, green LED row along the bottom rack, dark studio monitor framing him right, dim distant racks and lamp glow.

Full black. Near-void with three faint white noise pixels. Black again with four faint white dots roughly one per quadrant. Solid near-black.

You catch the line without a lyric card: “Just one more taste of bitter fruit before the end”

Henson green text at 1:47 AM. Mandala booth and yellow cube lamp. Blue stage wash and lime IEM. Omnichord count-in. Smoke bass. Black fade. Bitter Fruit.

What sticks when the picture dies is the loop the camera already built — same rooms, same wardrobe returns, same motions it would not drop.
